“Please Share! My horse stolen from my farm while I was finishing radiation treatment out of town: Fortune, 16.3 bright bay HolsteinerX with blaze, left hind sock and big, old fashioned, head. Was stolen when a former boarder was moving her two horses and created a diversion to allow a known kill buyer to sneak Fortune through a side door and into the trailer. Please share this with anyone who knows the auction circuits. I fear he may ship directly to slaughter for a few bucks. The local police were little help since I’m out of town but I will get a file reported locally and with state police as it was criminal, not civil. Please keep an eye out for him… super sweet, cuddly kind of horse but will give the hairy eyeball in some situations.
Stolen on 5/29/13 from outside Roanoke Virginia by Rachel Hobbs Bonham and known kill buyer Ronnie Patsel.
Animal control tells me that once I’m home and can take my paperwork proving ownership to the magistrate, that charges should be filed. Until then they say it’s an issue of my friend’s word against the thieves. I’m trying to make it home tonight. Thank you for the shares”
Apparently there’s a new show set to come on air in a few days called Killer Karaoke. From what I can understand, it’s basically a mixture of Fear Factor and American Idol, hosted by one of the members of Jackass (I honestly wish I was kidding). But that’s irrelevant.
The problem is this: the show’s producers and crew have all participated in blatant animal cruelty.
In one of the challenges, a contestant is lowered into a tub filled with ice-cold water and non-aquatic snakes.
This is cruelty on several accounts. Those snakes started drowning the moment they were put in that tank. Those snakes started freezing the moment they were put in that tank. Reptiles in general are extremely sensitive to temperature change and the cold would have been excrutiatingly painful. Not only that—the contestant can be seen thrashing around in fear, kicking and flinging snakes. The producers have issued a statement that none of the animals were harmed during the making of the episode, but fatal respiratory infections can take days (even weeks) to start showing symptoms. Considering most breeds of snake can develop URI’s at humidity levels of just 70% and higher, they’re almost guaranteed to get sick after being dunked in water like they were.
It’s pretty obvious to see that the snakes are highly distressed and trying desperately to get out of the water. Sadly, I wouldn’t be surprised if a good half of them came down with URI’s and died in a few week’s time.
There is a petition going around to try and get this show taken off the air. I urge all of you to go sign it. This isn’t just a matter of sympathy for reptiles—this is a matter of speaking out against animal abuse. Period.
As of now, Steve-O and his producers are standing by their statement that nothing they have done is wrong. They need to learn that they are sadly mistaken.
IF YOU CHOSE NOT TO SIGN THE PETITION, AT LEAST SPREAD THIS POST AROUND. SPREAD THE WORD. IF THE PRODUCERS HAD CHOSEN KITTENS OR DOGS TO PUT IN THAT TANK OF WATER, THE VIEWING PUBLIC WOULD BE IN AN UPROAR. THE REPTILE COMMUNITY NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT.

REBLOG please! My friend’s dog Liam had to undergo emergency surgery for a ruptured gallbladder. The surgery happened today and he pulled through successfully. Consider chipping in to help Jay pay for the cost of Liam’s lifesaving sugery.
Jay is an animal rights activist and rescued Liam from a lab where he was a test subject. “He was used for 3-4 years in a series of horrendous, useless toxicity tests, in which they burned various chemicals onto his exposed flesh in order to determine that they were toxic. After he escaped death at the lab, thanks to a concerned citizen who was able to get 12 beagles released, he was rehomed with Jay Johnson, a dedicated animal rights activists who took Liam into his home and later adopted him. When Liam was released, he was a severely traumatized soul - terrified of walking on grass, only willing to wag his tail until someone touched him, and shrunk at loud noises and sudden movements. Jay was slowly able to teach Liam, who had formerly lived in a concrete cage with no positive human interaction, to trust humans, to run in the grass, to sleep in a bed, and to love life the way that every dog has a right to. Since then, Liam and Jay have been inseparable. Jay wrote a tear-jerking essay on Liam, his journey, and how much he means to him, which can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/notes/jay-johnson/more-than-a-number/118055661579951”
From Jay: “I feel weird asking for money, but at the same time, I took out a line of credit to get this surgery and I am living on a students budget right now. If you are in a position to help, it would really mean a lot. If you aren’t, please do some
thing for animals today that isn’t based on money, all the other ones deserve your support just as much as Liam does. Trying to stay posi while we wait this out. Fingers crossed.”Jay is also the person who does Punk Rock Karaoke in various cities which is often used as a benefit to raise money for various causes. Jay has given a lot. Help him out if you can. Now, I’ve never donated to anyone online before, this is the first time. (Not that I don’t think you guys deserve it!) But this really, really struck something with me. I’m just so taken with the rescue beagles at work, so just hit hard. So please, spread the word!
People who do good things shouldn’t be punished—they should be helped. Which is why I’m making it my personal mission to help this absolutely AMAZING local establishment that currently has a $20,000 vet bill.
The Animal Protection Association has helped countless animals in our area. Just last night, Aaron and I were going to the gas station when we came across a few people all looking concerned around a young cat. We stopped and discovered this poor animal had been hit by a car. She was hurt, but her injuries were not fatal, so long as we could get her the care she needed. We took her home in a box given to us by the gas station and kept her through the night. But we were stressing about the cost of the vet—there was no way we could afford to pay for what she needed done, but we were going to anyway if we had no other option. In the morning we decided, on a chance, to call the APA and ask if they could help. We’ve adopted animals from them before and knew they were a trusted shelter.
The woman on the phone sounded heartbroken when she told me that just yesterday they had to put a freeze on taking in any animals or helping with vet bills. I was tearing up and giving up hope when she sighed and said, “I can’t turn away an injured cat.” My face lit up and a few hours later the poor cat we found—which we named Lucky—was taken to their clinic downtown and is now getting the care she needs. Since we can’t home her, they are also taking her into their care.
This is only one example of how amazing this selfless organization is. They are a strictly no-kill shelter, and their cat shelter is AMAZING. No cages for the animals except some nice, large wooden pens on the walls for kittens, sick or mean cats. Otherwise their cats run around free in a small-sized house with cat furniture everywhere, along with a few outdoor pens so they can bird watch.
But the Animal Protection Association—indeed any and all animal shelters that operate on donations alone—need your help. If you live in the Louisville/Jeffersonville area, you can volunteer your time. Otherwise, if you could please, please make a donation of any kind to this loving association I am sure it would be GREATLY appreciate.
The title is a link to the Donation page of their website. You can donate to them via PayPal, but they also have an address for checks or money orders.
Please everyone—winter is coming. Cold, harsh, and unforgiving weather for a lonely cat or dog. With your help—and I believe in Tumblr—we can make the APA stronger and more fit to help even more animals.
Even if you can’t donate, PLEASE signal boost this. Their current vet debt is $20,000, and at this rate I think Lucky might’ve been REALLY Lucky, because I think she’s the last cat they might have been able to help. And they helped us so much, I want to do whatever I can to help this place and the wonderful people who run it for no profit—only the genuine happiness that comes from helping an animal that cannot help itself.
<3
And remember, all donations are tax-deductible!
The APA has gotten $700! Woohoo everyone~!

*Edit: ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX-DEDUCTIBLE!
Misha Collins’ charity Random Acts have had €25,000 donated to it, and Jensen’s charity The Downs Syndrome Guild of Dallas winning October’s vote - we have really come through for their chosen charities.
On November 5th, 2011, Jared tweeted: “Can I have 195000 moments of silence 4 a great dog who lost his battle with cancer today? R. I. P. Harley. We’re better for having known you” (x) — I can’t think of a better way to honour both the memory of Jared’s beloved pet and his chosen charity than to make November Jared’s month to win The Billie Challenge.
A Dog’s Life Rescue is “a not for profit, all volunteer, no-kill organization dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned, abused or neglected dogs and other animals by providing them with shelter, care, and rehabilitation both medically and emotionally.” (x)
You now not only need one e-mail per vote but also a separate phone number to go with that vote. If you have been using more than one e-mail, make sure you match each one up to a phone number that is actually yours or a family member’s (remember - you can actually win to go present Jared with the check! don’t give bogus information!) when you vote.
The 11th-hour move that could swing the election to Romney. IF they get away with it.
Signal boost.
Don’t let them rob you
A young African American girl was set on fire by 3 white men while walking in the park this morning. Authorities are reporting this as a HATE crime. CNN, Fox News, andmsnbc, The Huffington Post, AOL News have yet to report the story. Please help get National Attention for this news story by Liking and #Sharing this page with all of your friends! THANK YOU!
I’m…I have no words.
And people have the nerve to tell us to just “get over it”?

Winnie Needs Your Help!
Winnie aka Winifred is a sweet, deaf pitbull mix. We received a call asking to help her after she was found along the highway. We didn’t realize at the time that Winnie had a severely injured leg. The first Xrays looked as though she may have been shot but, after another vet visit and more Xrays showed the injury to be much worse. She has a shattered thigh bone and her hip is displaced. It is an old injury which has caused more damage and her leg needs to be amputated as per 2 vets. Winnie is scheduled to have surgery to amputate her leg on Tuesday October 23rd. She will be recovering in a foster home with a staff member of the rescue and spending her recovery days at the rescue as an office doggy.
Please help if you can, vet bills and surgery, after care etc. Chip in, share, repost, whatever you can do!!! Winnie will need a home too, but first her caretakers will make sure her immediate needs are met- we need your help! More about Winnie on North Florida Animal Rescue Facebook page
^ very important. please reblog
I wouldn’t normally do something like this, but recent events have left me no choice.
I’m 18 and I need to leave my home immediately.
I’m asking that anyone who can, PLEASE HELP.
Here’s the story.
A month ago, my mom’s live-in boyfriend sexually assaulted me. I don’t want to get into details about what happened because I’m still processing it myself.
When I told my mother, she called me a liar. We got into a fight that turn physical and I left to stay with a friend for a few days. After which she let me come home.
She told me she believed me, but made sure to let me know that it wasn’t entirely his fault. Apparently he admitted, but said that I had been tempting him for a long time and since he was drunk he finally gave in.
I was disgusted.
But I thought I could get past it, because she had made him move out and even though she was blaming me, I had no where else to go.Yesterday he moved back in.
We all sat down and he apologized and said that he knows he has a drinking problem and he’s working on it.
I don’t believe him.
And now I know I can no longer live here.None of my friends parents want to get in the middle of it and neither does my extended family. So I have no where to go.
I found a studio apartment that I can move into, but I don’t have enough for the rent and the security deposit right now and on top of that I need to get my car fixed in order not have to rely on my mom for transportation to and from school and work. (I go to community college and work at a restaurant.)
Right now I need a total of $800 to take care of everything.
PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE.
Help me if you can.
I made a new Tumblr, email, and PayPal for this, because my mom has access to my Tumblr and I don’t want her knowing I’m reaching out to what she would call “strangers” for donations.
But the people from Tumblr are just as much my family as anyone else.
I’ve been running my blog for 2 years and have gotten really close to many of you.
Please help.
I can’t stay here. I don’t feel safe. I don’t feel wanted. I’m afraid to sleep, because that lunatic might come into my room.
PLEASE.
If you can.
My PayPal Email is clarklydia9@gmail.com

PLEASE SPREAD THIS AROUND EVEN IF YOU DON’T KNOW HER OR LIVE IN HER TOWN.
This is Kara, she’s a junior at ALJ high school in Clark, New Jersey. She went missing a couple of hours ago. Her parents came home to her not at home, their back door open, and her phone left on the floor. Show some respect and reblog this. PLEASE. If anyone has heard from her please call 911 ASAP.
